Our Story

I started my career in home care at a very early age.  I can honestly say that I worked my very first case when I was 10 years old. That case was my Grandfather.  

My mother and I were like most families who care for their loved ones at home.  We had no support, physically or financially, from our extended family unit so it was unofficially deemed our responsibility to become his primary caregivers. As a single parent, my mother often worked two or three jobs to make sure that our household was up and running so consequently it was up to me to be the caregiver.  At the tender age of 10, I would learn proper pivoting techniques before I officially knew what those proper techniques were. My only concern was for my grandfather's comfort.  I knew that I had to "roll" my grandpa after each of my favorite tv shows went off because I didn't want him to get bed sores. I knew that I had to put pillows between his knees and ankles so that he wouldn't endure as much pain as I rolled him.  I would also learn at a young age how to use the most dense parts of the body to roll my grandfather without tearing or stretching his skin. 

It was through these experiences that Messenger of Comfort Home Care was founded.
